Any number of things will affect a child’s social and emotional development, and academics should be flexible in finding the most effective ways to assist each student and, therefore, the class as a whole. Social problems cherish poverty, neighborhood violence, and family trauma will affect student performance while in school. Academics should be adept at noticing the warning signs of possible issues outside of class in order that they will consider these problems once teaching these students daily.
